The short version. Your alarms and settings live on your device. We collect only what's needed to run your account and the connections and nudges you choose to create. We never sell your data, and we never share your nudges or contacts with third parties. The free version is supported by ads; Pro removes them.
01Information we collect
We keep collection to the minimum needed to make the app work:
- Account details — your email address and display name, used to sign you in and identify your account.
- Your content — the alarms, connections (friends you add) and nudges you create. Alarm settings and uploaded custom sounds are stored on your device.
- A unique ID — a short code (e.g. AP-XXXXXX) that lets friends add you by code or invite link.
- Basic usage & device data — app version, device type and diagnostic information used to keep the app stable and secure.
- Purchase status — whether you hold an active Pro subscription, provided by the app store and our payments partner. We never see your card details.
02How we use it
- To deliver alarms and nudges at the right time, in the right timezone.
- To connect you with friends you choose to add, and to send nudges between you.
- To provide, maintain and improve the app, and to keep it secure.
- To manage your subscription and unlock Pro features.
- To respond when you contact support.
03What we never do
- We never sell your personal data.
- We never show ads without your say — personalised ads only ever run if you allow tracking in Apple's permission prompt; decline and you simply see generic ads. Pro removes ads entirely.
- We never share your nudges or contacts with anyone outside the connection you created.
04Connections & nudges
A connection is formed only when both people agree — by exchanging a code, an invite link, or a request. Either person can remove the connection at any time. Nudges are private messages between you and the recipient and are not visible to anyone else.
05Camera & QR codes
The camera is used only to scan a friend's QR code, and everything happens on your device — no photos or video are recorded, stored or uploaded.
06Advertising
The free version of Alarm Pulse is supported by advertising (for example Google AdMob): small banners, short ads before some actions, and optional rewarded videos you can watch to earn extra nudges. With your consent via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, ad partners may use a device advertising identifier to show more relevant ads — decline and ads are simply less personalised, with every feature intact. Ad partners process limited device data under their own policies. Alarm Pulse Pro removes all ads.
07Third-party services
We rely on a small set of trusted providers to run the app — for example authentication and cloud infrastructure (such as Google Firebase), subscription management (such as RevenueCat), and the rewarded-video partner above. Each processes data only as needed to provide their service.
08Data retention & security
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time in the app — Profile → Delete Account — which immediately removes your profile, connections and nudges from our systems and cannot be undone. We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure.
09Your choices & rights
- Access, update or delete your account information from within the app.
- Remove any connection or delete any nudge you've created.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or erase your personal data — contact us to exercise them.
10Children
Alarm Pulse is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date, and where appropriate we'll notify you in the app.
